the client brief
Mancala were contacted by Simon Foggin, a local photographer passionate about the north east of england. Simon had decided to set up his own business, offering both a library of stock north east images and conventional photography services.
Simon had identified key services that he would offer, and wanted mancala to build a website that would advertise his services and act as a portfolio of his work, as well as providing an online e-commerce system for purchasing images.
what Mancala did
The key selling point of the SJFoto.net site is the strong imagery and photography. Mancala set about designing a clean and simple website, that would frame the imagery but not distract from the strong visual photography elements. The website required an online gallery and image browsing system, which allows visitors to look through images of local landmarks and landscapes.
The gallery system is integrated into the Web Beads gallery and ecommerce system, allowing Simon to manage the galleries and images shown on the website, as well as allowing visitors to purchase the images from the site. The E-Commerce module also allows Simon to monitor and manage the orders on his website.
The Website also required a promotional element, providing an overview to the services offered by SJFoto.net, and acting as a portfolio of work carried out. Some of the services offered are
- Store product shots - Need your product range photographed for a new catalogue, brochure or e-commerce store? SJFoto.net will come to your premises and shoot your entire range, and provide you with high resolution images. SJFoto.net can also provide multiple angles or shots per product.
- Corporate PR - SJFoto.net will work with you to provide photographs for your latest press release or capture your corporate event.
- Portraits - Do you want a family portrait, but dont want to have the whole family trek out to the photographers studio? SJFoto.net will come to your home and bring the studio to you.

The finished SJFoto.net website is very simple in its design. This ensures that the viewers attention is drawn to the high quality imagery available through the website.
There is a portfolio area which details the services offered by SJFoto. And the main area of the website is the online stock photography purchasing area.
