Getting the Most from Your Christmas Party in an Envelope
So you have recieved your Christmas Party in an Envelope. So how do you go about getting the most from it.
- Open the envelope provided and you will find all the elements you need for a great part. Checklist of content:
- Balloons
- Party Popper
- Party Blower
- Sweets
- Cracker
To get maximum effect here is our suggestions on how you can use your party bag.
- Open the envelope and eat a chocolate! The general consensus here at Mancala is to have your least favourite first and build up the best one for the finale.
- Blow up the balloons and place in a prominent position on your desk. This is the outward signal to your colleagues that a party is happening at your desk!
- Pull the cracker to release the goodies inside – you may need to enlist the help of a colleague for this – if a colleague is not available then you could either use both hands or wedge one end of the cracker under an object that is not likely to move – such as a desk. REMEMBER – if you do enlist the help of a colleague it is good etiquette to offer them one of the two remaining sweets as a thank you for their help.
- Remove the goodies from the open cracker and wear the paper hat. This will immediately lift your mood and you will get that Christmassy feeling. You may get compliments from colleagues – takes these compliments graciously. Now you can read them the Christmas joke contained in the cracker.After several minutes and only when the laughter has subsided and everyone has wiped the tears from their eyes you can move on to the next part of the Christmas party.
- If you have not relinquished one of your chocolates have another one now – otherwise move on to the next step.
- If you have access to music why not play one of your favourite Christmas songs. Other wise use the blower to make a tune. The office will love you for it.
- Have your final chocolate.
- To signal the official end of the party now is the time to use the party popper. Pull the string and savour the moment.
- The party is over. Get back to work.
